go out and buy all the ingredients again and make another big mess to clean up? Oh well, I guess sometimes that is what it takes. My mom and Brittany have both recently made freezer jam. I have been inspired to do the same...another first for me. Yesterday I ran to 3 different stores gathering all the supplies I needed to make my first batch of strawberry freezer jam. I started last night at about 9:30 and I thought it went so well...that is until this morning when I woke up. I realized that I had doubled the strawberries and the sugar, but FORGOT to double the water and pectin. AAAaahhh! My double batch of jam will now be considered my year's supply of pancake/ice cream topping. So, this morning I ran out and grabbed the supplies again and made what I think will be a real batch of jam...we will see 24 hours from now. If any of you happen to prefer runny freezer jam, let me know, I would be more than happy to share! For me this is another right of passage...I can now make bread AND jam. I think I might be turning into a real homemaker!

If at first you don't succeed...

I'm impressed that you started over and tried again! I would have given it up until next year. Great job!
Awesome post and cool picture. You crack me up. I am so impressed and I am expecting lots of jam (and topping!) Hope you are feeling better soon!
Wow...you make the jam look so pretty! I am sure it will be delicious. There is nothing better than homemade bread and jam. Yum!
I can't believe you started over - that's determination! You could've called me - I would have come over to help. I think I could make freezer jam in my sleep. I've made it way too many times. My favorite is raspberry or plum. Your jars look so pretty all lined up. Congratulations on conquering another stepping stone on becoming the next Martha...
Look out Betty Crocker....Here comes Heather. Bread and Jam...what will she come up with next. Nice work girl!!!
I want some!! I'm not even going to try and make jam yet. I haven't gotten the hang of cookies yet. Hope you are feeling better and we missed you last night!
Wow Heather, I am impressed. Kyle must sure well be taken care of. If I had to can and try it at least once I know I would fail. I tried canning and meatpacking on my mission and that did not go to well :). Guess I am not cut out for making the jam and preserves! How are you guys?
