Adieu

Another chapter in our lives has closed. Kyle left QuicKutz about two months ago and my last day was yesterday. We are both grateful to the wonderful (mostly;) people we worked with there. We have made life-long friends and gained irreplaceable experience at the same time. We are very excited for the new opportunities that lie ahead for us. We are also grateful for the promptings and blessings that have come our way in determining the next course for our family. We are in good hands. So, for now, so long, farewell QuicKutz.

here it comes...

At the last minute I decided to throw Krissy a "school girl" party since she will be starting Kindergarten later this week. I made all the decorations with my Silhouette, some patterned cardstock, glue dots, toothpicks and string. When the party was over we put the decorations on her door...she's still feeling pretty special. It's amazing what you can throw together at the last minute when you've got all the right tools...thanks QuicKutz! And here's to our school girl...

Introducing...L

Today is a big day. Today QuicKutz announced the creation of a new brand that has been years in the making. L...or Lifestyle Crafts is a new brand that will help the home crafter live a more creative life. I am so excited for the first product we are releasing. It is the Letterpress tool...shown here...

I was asked to take some photos showcasing some projects for our new website and wanted to show you a few here as well.

Here are a few of my favorite printing plates:

And with that beautiful cotton paper and twenty colors of ink...imagine the possibilities! I hope you get as excited about this as I am...anyone up for a craft night???

the hazards (...I mean joys...) of working from home

I turn my back for one second and look what happens...oh, well...at least the hours are good, lunch breaks are flexible and I don't miss a beat with my little "helpers". Truthfully, I wouldn't have it any other way.

{Now I am wondering if there is any room in that budget for some fresh, new chalks...}

Nie auction

So you all already know that I adore QuicKutz and it is because of things like this. QK has donated product to be auctioned off for the Nie recovery fund...for our favorite blogger that none of us happen to know. Theirs really is a heartwarming story that you can read about here. If, somehow, you have never heard their story, grab a Kleenex first. My good friend Laura is hosting the auction on her blog. Check it out here.

QuicKutz Sale

What started years ago as a small friends and family sale has blossomed into this BIG event. There will be all kinds of great buys on our AWESOME paper crafting products. I am working at the sale Friday night. Why don't you come by and watch me brush up on my super selling skills...I'll just have to pull them off the shelf and dust them off...it's been a while. Now that is great Friday night entertainment!

"Professional" Kyle

Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall and catch a glimpse of your husband at work??? I just saw this on YouTube. If you want to see how Kyle brings home our bacon check it out. He is the guy in the red sweater with a green hat and red hair...and no, this is not typical QuicKutz dress code.

Professional Me

Today I spent the day at a QuicKutz Retailer Event in Park City. We had some of our top retailers here from all over the country (and world, for that matter.) Kyle has been up there for the past few days and I was excited to join in today. I have known some of these people for nearly 6 years and it was great to get to see them and catch up with a few of them. We spent the day introducing new products, talking strategy and brainstorming together. It felt so good, but what felt even better was to come home to my two sweet girls. I feel so lucky to get to stay home with them, but to still get to play with the creative folks at QuicKutz. It is crazy...within minutes of being home I had Kendall on my lap, salad dressing down my "fancy" black slacks and potato soup on my shirt...but, of course I was loving every minute of it. Thank you Mom for taking great care of my girls and showing them a great time. Thank you QuicKutz for being flexible and working around my MOST important job.

wish granted!

Today is Cam & Shaunee's (Kyle's brother and his wife) anniversary! I read this on her blog..."In New Jersey, where Cam served his mission, there were a lot of Chinese people. Cam learned how to say "I Love You" in Chinese and we still say it to each other. I so badly want to find somewhere that can cut those Chinese characters out of vinyl lettering so I can place it on my wall in our bedroom."
So...tonight while they were out at dinner I snuck in (okay, the babysitter let me in) and put this on their wall. Happy Anniversary you two! I am still glad we set you up!
Just another reason EVERYONE needs a Silhouette...from QuicKutz, of course!!

Our friends at QuicKutz

I feel like the biggest part of our life that I have yet to blog about is work. Most of the time I am working on top-secret stuff I can't mention...(sounds kind of glamourous, huh?) We have both worked for QuicKutz for the last 5+ years and enjoyed (almost) every minute of it. Tonight we enjoyed dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, courtesy of QuicKutz, with the Sales & Marketing teams. We really do work with the most amazing people. It is so great to work with people you call your friends. Thanks QuicKutz for the great food, the enjoyable evening & introducing us to some very special people!
