We are so excited to get to see Lamb of God, tomorrow at the Tabernacle!

"Lamb of God is a sacred musical work for choir, orchestra and soloists focusing on the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, His Atonement and Resurrection. It is written as a dramatic work and presented in concert format. It uses as its basis, and much of its text, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and especially John, as found in the King James version of the Holy Bible. The work is written and composed by Rob Gardner."

Cool thing is...Rob Gardner was our co-worker at QuicKutz. At that time I knew he had musical talent...but I had no idea he was this amazing. Good thing or we would have stalked his cubicle non-stop...none of us would have gotten anything done. This music is at the top of our iTunes playlist. I really love it, but Kyle is obsessed. With or Without You

Guess you could say that I am feeling like the wife of the year... Yesterday I bought tickets for this June 3 concert and we are looking forward to it already. It may have something to do with the fact the the first song we ever danced to was by U2 and for years now, it has been on Kyle's "list" to get to one of their concerts. I always dreamed that it would be in Europe somewhere...guess I will just have to settle for SLC.

My man

I asked Kyle to be my photography model for a while today so I could play with my new toy. Of course he was a great sport and got right into it. Seriously...who has this much fun? We laughed and laughed. Just another reason I am so glad he is my man. Love you babe.

my new lucky number...

Today is our 13th anniversary...it is so hard to believe. Life is so amazing...even through its ups and downs...challenges and rewards...it is funny how you wouldn't change a thing. I am happy about where we are right now...and it feels so good. I have decided that 13 just might be my new lucky number...married for 13 years to my best friend...and 13 days from today we will fly into Rome's Fumiciano airport! How is that for coincidence?

...and no I wouldn't feel lucky to wake up and find 13 eggs...I am worried enough about our 6.

"Professional" Kyle

Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall and catch a glimpse of your husband at work??? I just saw this on YouTube. If you want to see how Kyle brings home our bacon check it out. He is the guy in the red sweater with a green hat and red hair...and no, this is not typical QuicKutz dress code.

you are NEVER going to believe THIS...

I am still in SHOCK myself!! Kyle went to a golf tournament today (I'm sure he was working VERY hard...) and he won the Grand Prize of the tournament...not for his killer score, but because they pulled his name out of a hat. He won 2 round-trip BUSINESS CLASS tickets to anywhere in the world that Delta flies!

For the last hour we have been discussing all the options and I can't imagine where we will end up going because there are so many places in our list...New Zealand, Greece, Germany, Australia, Tahiti, Italy...it goes on and on. Really the only place we can't go, but would like to someday, is the Moon! I have never flown anything but Coach class so I am crazy-excited about the chance to fly Business Class...you can check that out here.

We would love to hear any suggestions, recommendations, and of course, we are always looking for travel buddies, who, in this case would likely be riding in the back of plane in the Coach seats, since all the round trip Business Class flights we have checked cost $3000-$6000 EACH!

Just yesterday I was saying how jealous I was of the honeymooners...I guess this is my chance at a second honeymoon. I'll just have to gear up to leave my kiddos...maybe there is some type of medication for that. I'm sure somehow I'll manage :) I already feel like my old-trip-planning-live-on-pennies-to-save-some-dollars-for-a-crazy-once-in-a-lifetime-trip self again! And it feels good!! Way to go Kyle...you ARE the best husband in the world...and I can't wait to see all of it with you.

10 Things You Might Not Know About Me

This is my first official entry into the world of blogging. I was tagged by "Chambo", a member of our Bishopric, so I figure I better do what he says. I hope he knows that fulfilling a tag removes my name from the "to-speak-in-church" list for the next few years!! So here goes...

1. Only girl I have kissed is my wife. Oh, and Heather's Grandma Norma.

2. I was stupid enough to ask Heather's dad permission to marry her on a hunting trip, with nothing in between us but his gun...I didn't think that one through.

3. I am a graduate of Brigham Young University. Take that Miss. Greaves.


4. I hate to watch the news, but love to read US Weekly! I find it is a great way to stay informed on the most important current events.


5. Since February of this year I have logged enough miles on my Trek 2200 to have biked from American Fork to Washington D.C.

6. In 1994 I made it to the 5A State Finals in the 100 meter, 200 meter, medley relay, and 4x100 meter relay for the Orem High track team. Go Tigers!! Now look at me...

7. I enjoy crying through a movie more than the popcorn. I have to usually beg Heather to go to a chick flick with me. Hopefully this is enough information to get an invite to the next neighborhood "girls night out".

8. During my senior year of high school, I had an unfortunate incident at Lavell Edwards Stadium. My 30 friends and I were in the middle of a "tribute to the BYU Cougars" using fireworks when the BYU police department showed up and started hand cuffing our pyro-technicians who (I thought...) were doing a fantastic job. Fortunately, they didn't see me running out the south end of the stadium. All of those hours of track training did come in handy. Uumm...that was a close call...

9. I played arena football for about one month. That wasn't a good idea either.

10. My hobbies include (and I have the gear to prove it): climbing, showshoeing, hiking, camping, roller blading, skiing, golfing, basketball, triathalon, swimming, running, 4 wheeling, shotgun shooting, hunting, pistol shooting, crafting ;), fishing, football, boxing, volleyball, weight lifting, singing with my family, harmonizing songs, and my favorite... drum roll please... CYCLING!! And, of course, spending time with my girls!

Sufferfest...as they call it

Sounds, uh...fun??? Ever wonder what 111 miles-in-a-saddle looks like in 100 degree weather??? Well, here it is & I think it looks pretty darn good. This was Kyle's third century (100 miles +) ride this year. He LOVES riding with his brothers and good friends. I am always excited to watch the race & thankful to see them all finish safely. Way to go guys!

He's baaaack...

...and we are DELIGHTED!!!! I took these pictures shortly after he came through the door...can you see how much they missed their daddy? Welcome home honey...it is not the same when you are away.

It's back...and he is in heaven!!

This is the fourth year we have watched the Tour together. Originally I was drawn in to see if I could get a look at Sheryl Crow & Lance Armstrong..but that is so four years ago now! Now he watches for the cycling and I mostly watch for the scenery! We have put it on our "list"...someday go to France to watch the Tour...can't wait for that one. Can you imagine that dream come true for a photographer??? (I hope Oprah is reading today!) So for now it is on morning and night, with a little Disney Channel in between. Yesterday we watched Stage 2 three different times. Heaven help us.
In honor of the Tour Kyle is riding his bike to and from work everyday for the next 3 weeks. Wish us all luck! I will keep you posted.

They even look like trouble...

Tonight me & Krissy painted our nails. Kyle decided he wanted to paint Kendall's too. I warned him I thought she was too young. As soon as he got polish on one nail she was done and wouldn't hold still.

Kyle + Kendall + nail polish = a recipe for disaster.

Again, I warned him, he better go wipe it off... Unbelievably, he did not heed my warning and before I knew it I had nail polish on my pants!! Hmmmm...maybe next time he will listen. So, I had to be mad for a minute, but before long we were all laughing. Of course it helped that he suggested I go get the camera and take a picture for the blog. That always makes me happy. Plus, I got most of the polish out of my pants.

Ky, thanks for the fun memory & a great story to tell, but next time remember I am usually right... Funny how now all I can think about is what a great daddy he is!!

Something special

There is just something special about daddies and daughters...and fathers and sons!
Blessed...that is what I am. I have a Dad that loves me no matter what, that has always encouraged me to reach for the stars and ALWAYS do my best, a Father-in-law that is an amazing example of selflessness and service, and a husband that loves me & our girls more than life itself. I am so thankful for you all. Happy Father's Day! XOXO

The Big Weekend

We came home from our adventure-filled weekend with a sick baby girl. Poor Kendall has been busy with the throw-ups and horrible diahrrea! Which means, it is now an hour before Wednesday and I still have yet to completely unpack from the weekend! I have my BIG race this Friday so I am anticipating a few crazy days ahead and wanted to catch up before I go off and take another 200 photos over the weekend! Craziness!
A BIG thank you to all of you who donated to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Krissy & Kyle's ride for her. It was a special weekend for all us!
Mike & Hollie, thank you for having all of us again! We had such a great time!!

What a great dad...huh?

My guy

Kyle is definitely the man of the house...he is the only man in the house. He is such a great dad to Krissy and Kendall. I often say he is the perfect dad-of-girls...kind, gentle, patient, emotional... (just like my own daddy)! I feel so lucky to have him as my husband. Today before he left for work he took care of feeding the girls breakfast while I got in some time on the treadmill. If this keeps up I just might get in shape! Wow, and to not have to worry about one meal of the day. So refreshing. Just what I needed. Thanks honey. I love you.

The St. George Race

Kyle, Erik, Brady, Chase, and Jeff at the end of their 100 mile bike race. I was so proud to see them all finish. Eight hours in the saddle is not an easy feat! Also, some pictures of the kids as we waited for the daddies to come across the finish line. Way to go guys!
