Elle's tiny two

Tonight we celebrated with this darling little girl. This had to be one of the cutest birthday parties I have ever been to...every detail was perfect (& oh, so tiny)...just what we would expect from her mom Michelle! Happy birthday little Elle!

spring fever!

We had such a great weekend...and somehow it all revolved around food. No wonder I liked it so much. It was so fun to fire up the BBQ. It's official...we've got Spring Fever!

He is here!

Last night we made a quick trip to Logan in time to welcome this special little guy. These photos were all taken within the hour after he was born. I am happy to report that Mom, Dad, & Koy are all doing well! Crazy...even though this is Hollie's fourth baby and the sixth grandchild in our family it feels as new, exciting and miraculous as did the first. We feel so blessed and thankful. Welcome little Koy. We love you already.

Crystal & Tim

Just wanted to share some photos I took of this happy couple last week. I always love taking pictures of a beautiful bride!

turns out...I am a pretty darn good pancreas

We had Krissy's A1C checked for the third time today and it was our best result yet...hallelujah!! We are working so hard to keep this little girl as healthy as she can be and it feels so great to get a good report from the doctor. I always get nervous for the test and tell myself that the result is my score as her pancreas...not her mother. Today I am claiming the grade as both...I'll enjoy that thought for a while.

don't worry...it happens to the best of us...

Today Krissy had an accident at school (and no I am not bragging again)... The school was prepared with a change of unisex-looking clothes and sent her home with this cute note pinned to a bag full of her stinky wet clothes and shoes. I guess this must happen too often.

When we got home and were talking about the incident I noticed she had this big letter P pinned to her shirt. I started laughing and asked what the P was for. She said they had a visit from a real police officer...whew...I was afraid it was the Scarlett Letter of the preschool...

...pee your pants here and we mark you with one of these! Poor thing really was horrified...but I had to share.

It's Electric...

The Electric - steps

I found this online while I was trying to revive my dance skills. I don't mean to be cruel, but this may be some of the best entertainment I have had in a while. This dude rocks. I'm sure I shouldn't be too critical because in 2 hours this will be me...teaching my ward the Electric Slide & Macarena...because that's the kind of Activities Chairman I am.

Oh, boy.

homemade artisan bread

I just baked this tasty loaf of rustic, crusty bread...I never thought this would be possible at home. I am used to paying $5-6 a loaf at Kneaders...not anymore...just some flour, salt, yeast, water and a little time...amazing! Next time around I am going to try mixing in some Asiago cheese. Click here for the "formula"...that's fancy for recipe!

(I got this recipe from A Little Sussy and she recommended increasing the salt to 1 1/2 tsp. and lining the baking pan with parchment paper...both of which turned out to be great suggestions. I also decided to bake it at 425 degrees.)
