Today was Krissy's first day of Kindergarten. We were so excited, but a bit apprehensive at the same time... I was excited to have this experience with Grandma Dennae and Brittany, instead of strangers. I'm sure every (well, at least most) parents get a little weepy about sending their babies off to school, but the whole diabetes thing complicates it a bit more for me. You would think my own mother would understand that feeling since she also raised a diabetic...but, I guess not. She chuckled today when I told her that I cried. Yep, I did, in front of Brittany and Grandma and a bunch of moms that I don't know...but I was PROUD of myself that I hid it from Krissy. I somehow knew I would get emotional...and those of you who even, kind-of-sort-of-know me wouldn't be surprised a bit I'm sure!! And I am not even sad about her starting school, I am really excited...for me it's just one of those sentimental milestones that makes me realize that my babies won't be little for long. But my mission today was not to let Krissy see me cry and I did it!! Mission accomplished!! Krissy had such a great time at school and can't wait to go back tomorrow...she got pretty high marks from the teacher too! ;)
on the way in...you can see Kendall didn't want to let Krissy go either!
with Grandma!
hanging up the backpacks...
I was doing pretty good until this moment...it just struck me as one of the most bitter sweet experiences of my life. Kendall thought she was going to stay (she has NO idea she is 3 years younger than Krissy)! I was sad Kendall couldn't stay and sad Krissy was going to stay...how's that for messed up?
Britt insisted on the weepy eye photo.
After school...one happy Krissy and one proud momma!
Christian & Britt...our school buddies!
(can I just say again how happy I was to have you there!)
School kids!!
(We are oh, so proud of you!)
