La Dolce Vita!

So...I am freaking out. It's official...it's booked...and I am soooo excited! You know that I have been wrestling with this for a long time...5 months now...but for some reason I am ready to do it! Babysitters get ready...Rome, Florence, Cinque Terra, Milan...here we come!

...breathe, breathe...oh, my.

Krissy's big day

It was one year ago today that Krissy was diagnosed with Diabetes. We have learned so much this year and we really have so much to be thankful for. We wanted to make it a special and positive day for Krissy so we planned a party with all of our aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Krissy started the day at preschool, then we went to register for Kindergarten (...already???). Krissy spent the afternoon playing with her friend Kate and making party favors. We went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then it was on to the party! Krissy was so excited to hand out her party favors (full of her favorite low-carb treats) and handmade thank you notes. We had a great time bowling...so much fun that one of us (no, not from this household) left the party wearing BYU's bowling shoes home instead of their own.

I am so proud of Krissy for the way she is handling this challenge. I am thankful for the support and love that we receive from our family and our friends. What a blessing you are to all of us.

Melissa & baby Luke

Today I took some photos of my sweet friend Melissa and her 6 week old baby Luke. We had the best time...chatting about photography (and all the pricey items on our wish lists), babies, craft projects...all of which are things that would make our dear husbands cringe, but that's what friends are for...right?

Bloggiversary!!

One year ago today I started this blog. I was a little uncertain about it in the beginning, but I sure love it now. It is hard to believe that it has been a year already... I am thankful for this record that we have of this last year...(which is always what I intended my scrapbooks to be). I have learned that...

I don't hate to write as much as I thought I did,

that the world-wide-web is a great tool for staying in touch with family & friends near and far,

that there are so many "strangers" out there who write amazing blogs that I learn from often,

and that I have some fantastic people living in my neighborhood that were destined to be my friends if I would just put myself out there and get to know them.

Thank goodness for the blog...that's all I can say.

...oh, and no gifts please...just leave me a comment. I really want one.

Memory Lane

Today I cleaned out the girls closets and drawers, taking out the old stuff that doesn't fit and making room for the new stuff. Every time I do this it is a walk down memory lane...my favorite is to pull out the clothes that Krissy use to wear and get them ready for Kendall. It is so bitter-sweet. I can't believe they are growing up so fast. That is what inspired this walk down memory lane... (in chronological order.)

Birthday week

Our friends Chris & Ines had us over for dinner on Kyle's birthday. We enjoyed such a yummy dinner and fun FHE with them and their kids. This is one family that has it together! Thanks again Seamons.

On Saturday we met my sis & her family, my parents and my aunt & uncle and their kids for a birthday celebration. Within 3 weeks we celebrate 5 birthdays within this bunch. We tried the Prairie Schooner in Ogden for the first time. Dining in a dim, covered wagon with kids crawling all over us...and even though our our party of 15 needed 7 kids menus...we did SOMEHOW manage to enjoy some great conversation...

Sunday was my Dad's birthday. We had dinner with my parents...which is always a treat. I am lucky enough to get to take my Dad out to lunch tomorrow...so birthday week continues... Happy birthday Dad. I love you.

Goodbye mullet

We gave Kendall her first haircut on Sunday and said goodbye to her mullet. It is not really gone, now it is just tucked away safely in an envelope. She was definitely in need of a haircut...I have been waiting for just the right time so I couldproperly document it with some photos...and who could cut those cute curls anyway? Kyle did the honors while I snapped away. I think he did a fabulous job.

Happy birthday Hollie!

Yesterday was Hollie's birthday!! Another year older, yes, another year wiser...hummm???

I decided to surprise her with a quick, last minute trip to Logan. I wanted to take some pictures of her boys...something that we never seem to get around to when she comes down. They are such sweet boys...and so good looking already. They are each a unique combination of Mike and Hollie...it just leaves me wondering what #4 will look like. How exciting!

Thanks for spending your birthday with us Hollie. Thanks for always making us laugh. We love you.

Little Logan

I had a chance to get together with my friend Andrea and her darling (and busy) little boy Logan. Here are a few of my favorite photos! Andrea, it was so great to see you!

Heaven help us!

Apparently, we have had some practice posing for the camera....
