What I learned...
I DID IT! I SURVIVED...and it is amazing the things I learned from this race.
I learned that you can make your body do incredible things if you put your mind to it.
I learned that motherhood is no excuse to miss out on opportunities like this & I learned I can make time for myself to exercise.
I learned that I miss my kids even more when I am exhausted, spent and just plain worn out.
I learned that I have an incredibly supportive husband who is EXTREMELY proud of me!
I learned that even when I say "I will never do this again", when I get home and show my husband the pictures and he says "I want to do this...let's do it together next year", I (for some crazy reason) might consider it!!
I learned that I have some incredibly driven & dedicated sisters-in-law.
I learned that friends like Joanie are more like family than friends.
I learned that Britt has some incredible (& hilarious) brothers.
I learned that we live in a BEAUTIFUL state that I need to spend more time exploring. I would love to see it all again...in a car, with my family & my camera!
I learned that North Summit High School does not have very good sleeping accommodations.
I learned that I get kind of cross and quiet when I am too tired.
I learned that real terrain is much more difficult than it looks on the map.
I learned that 9 weeks of training is BARELY enough for this race.
I learned that I have a lot of training left to do for the half-marathon at the end of the summer.
I learned that "Pain is temporary, quitting is forever!"
I learned that sometimes you cry through the last mile of a 15 mile journey.
I learned that things like this are only possible with encouragement & support from family & friends.
I learned that I can do it...even when I think I can't.

Heather that is so cool, and I am sooooo proud of you and everyone else that did that. I know that it is a lot of work and you did awesome. Maybe someday I will get enough courage to do it myself, for now I get to live vicariously through all of you. Congrats on doing it! And I know that for the race at the end of the summer you will be able to do it just fine!! Love you!
YOU ROCK!!! You did so great and it was so much fun even though it was WAAAAY harder than I thought it would be. I can't believe that it is already over. I feel like we can do anything after surviving the Ragnar! I am so glad you decided to do it with me, but I seriously thought after yesterday that there would be no chance of you doing it again EVER. I was so surprised to read that you are considering it! Way to go!
Heather, I'm not at all surprised that you did it. I feel like I should bow down to you, though, because it sounds so very hard. I think it's so awesome that you finished and that you are actually considering it again. You go girl!!
Yeah Heather! I am so proud of you... you did awesome! Those pictures are awesome, and it brings back a lot of memories! I'm proud of you and you will remember this forever! Long live 579!
I am very proud of you and have known all along that this warrior is within you. Congratulations on knowing what pain is all about and welcome to the club! It is true that you have the very best of family and friends who did this with you. After these experiences, they are all family. Let's schedule 2009! Love, Ky
We could not have ever done it without the inspiring story that became the theme for running strong . . . you know what I mean . . . the BABY ARM. If other readers don't know the story, ask Heather about it. Needless to say, our signal to let everyone know that we were doing ok was to hold up our fist in what we called the baby arm. It was inspiring. As for the run, GREAT JOB! I'm so glad we all did this, and I am so proud of us! KUDOS to us. KUDOS to us.
Heather...I have been waiting all day for this and couldn't wait to come home and read your blog!! I love that we did this!! I still get emotional thinking about finishing and the amazing feeling we all shared!! I am so glad that I was able to share this with all of you!! Thank you for your encouragement along the way...I couldn't have done it without you all!
I am with Brady..."Long Live the Baby Arm" and Team 579!!!
Everyone join me please...Hip...Hip...Hooray...Hip...Hip...Hooray. Nice work Heather. You rock harder then KBER.
Way to go, Heather! I'm so glad that you blogged about it so quickly, cause I had been thinking about all of you! It must feel so great to have succeeded at such a difficult journey. I'm amazed at all of you! The 1/2 marathon will be nothing for you after this!
I heard this was killer...I am so impressed. Your awesome pictures of Utah scenery are so pretty. You are just so talented.
Good job Heather! That really is an amazing accomplishment. To put your body through so much rigorous training really shows how dedicated you are! Congratulations!
Congrats Heather!!! :) Can't wait to see you and Kyle in few :)
Yay Heather! I am so proud of you. Sounds like an incredible experience. Thanks for sharing the fun pics and the things you learned. I can't believe you are talking about doing it again and what's this about a half marathon at the end of summer?! Sounds like you've been bitten by the running bug! You go girl!
Good for you!!! I cannot even imagine how hard it must have been. I have another friend who ran too and she for sure wants to do it again next year. If you are looking for a team mate next year just give me a call and I will hook you up! You are amazing.
yEAH HEATHER! You did it! Isn't it great to have it behind you? Congratulations!
What an inspiration! Way to go! Loved all of the pictures and I can't believe that you could take such awesome pictures even though you were running and trying to sleep/rest for your next run. I need to be taught on how to take pictures. Again, congrats on the run!
You guys are amazing!!! I am so proud of you. It truly is amazing what your body can do. I love this blog, you inspire me. Great job finishing!
