Girls Camp

Last week I spent the week at Girls Camp where we had such a great time. Our Stake gets to go to Heber Valley Camp and it really is an amazing place. As far as camping goes it really is like the "Marriott in the Mountains". I had such a great experience getting to know the girls and leaders in my ward better. The theme of our camp was "Seek and Ye Shall Find." I was in on it from a very interesting perspective. I was called to be the Stake Assistant Camp Director...Kyle's Aunt Cindy was the Stake Camp Director. A few months later I was called to be the Laurel advisor for our ward, so I got to see what goes into camp from all different angles. There really is so much work that goes into camp, but it all comes together to bless so many lives. All week I just kept thinking how fun it would be to be there with my daughters when they are young women. Not that they would want me there, but I would certainly love that opportunity... ;). The girls in our ward are amazing! It really was a privilege for me to be there, but I sure was happy to get home to my babies!

wedding photos

When it comes to photography there is nothing I love more than a chance to take pictures at a temple wedding. I got the chance to take these photos for a co-worker of Kyle's who's photographer bailed on her at the last minute. Can you imagine??? I was happy to step in to help this beautiful couple. Krissy's Paris Party

This year for Krissy's birthday we decided to do two parties...one for her neighborhood and school friends and one with her cousins. This is the party we planned for her neighborhood and school girlfriends. We were so excited to have Gage join us at the last minute...a chance we don't get very often! Krissy was so excited to have him...and quick to remind him that he was "girl trapped". For years I have wanted to do a Paris party and this year Krissy wanted to too.
We had so much fun planning and playing! Up next...cousin party!

Little Lady

Krissy has been getting ready for her end of year dance concert. Last night they had team pictures and a dress rehearsal. She is so excited about this pretty little costume. We had a fabulous time getting her all dolled up. I look forward to putting mascara on Krissy every time I get the chance. Look at those beautiful eyes! I love you little lady...can't wait to see you strut your stuff on stage!!

dance class

I've been working on a BIG project. I took photos for Kendall's dance class...along with 2 other classes that Miss Mindee teaches. It was such a fun project and I feel like I learned a lot. Look at all this cute, pink fluffiness...I can hardly stand it! And I must say how much we love Miss Mindee! She is perfectly cut out for this job. We feel lucky to have found her.

Vanessa: Senior Pictures

Three years ago we hired our first babysitter, Vanessa. It is so hard to believe how quickly the time has gone. The other night we went to the high school to watch her in her last orchestra concert before graduation...and boy were we BLOWN away! I knew she was great, but to watch her play her violin and even conduct the orchestra was such a treat. This is one girl who has her head on straight...straighter than straight. We sure love you Vanessa. Thanks for being such a fabulous example for our girls.

Go get 'em girl. You will do amazing things for sure!

linebackers in training

Look at these two cute brothers in yellow pulling the flag at their football game! I was so excited to this picture with Ty and Gage both in it...it made my heart so happy. I wish we had the chance to see them play in person a little more often. I think I'm feeling a Boise trip coming on ;)

the purple pancreas

So, this is "the" pump that we love so much!! It was been such a blessing to have good insurance again this year...(love you Select Health!) I figure in the last three years we have done around 4300 shots at probably 5ooo finger pokes! So, as you can imagine we are delighted to have this pump that eliminates the need for shots, although we are still doing finger pokes. :) I had to do so much paperwork and record keeping for our doctor in order to prepare for the pump. I am so grateful to have made it through the process...and even more grateful Krissy likes it and is doing great!

3rd Diabetes Birthday...already

Way back on February 24 we "celebrated" ;) Krissy's third diabetes birthday with a surprise cousin party at Chuck E. Cheese's. This year we really had reason to celebrate. Early in the day we took her to get her insulin pump, which is a huge milestone for us that will really help improve her control and her long-term health. We surprised her afterward with a party at one of her favorite places.

We are so proud of you Krissy. She is learning at a young age that she can do hard things and she has a fantastic attitude through it all!

parents and pastries

We went to the school for Parents & Pastries...for us it was also cousins, an aunt and an uncle too...but no pastries! They ran out due to better-than-expected-turnout. So, we took the girls to Krispy Kreme for our own version. No one was complaining!
